Jim's Story

Jim is not currently in a relationship. His schools include Mount Vernon High School. He later attended General Motors Institute (Mechanical Engineering). He currently runs Diamond Grilles and most recently was at Wald Diversified/Professional Products. One of Jim's favorite quotes is:"Govern yourselves accordingly..... More about Jim: "First job was as a mechanical designer for 10 years. Then started my own publishing company publishing with two nationally distributed magazines; Super Stock & Drag Illustrated and Stock Car Racing. Sold out of the publishing company and had an ad agency for five years with offices in Alexandria, VA, Detroit, MI, and Los Angeles, CA. Sold agency and took position as president of B&M Racing & Performance Products, a post I held for 18 years. Then was president of Russell Performance Products for a couple of years and then started, with two partners, Professional Products, a company that produces a line of high performance and racing automotive parts. Semi-retired from this position in January of 2012 but still part owner. Formed a new company called Performance Injection. Also do freelance graphic arts work. Primarily catalog and flyer production. During my career I served on the board of directors of SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association, the performance automotive trade association) for 13 years, four of which as chairman of the board.". Was selected as SEMA Person of the Year and PWA (Performance Warehouse Association) Person of the Year. Also presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Street Rodder Magazine and Person of the Year by NSRA (Nati...Expand for more
onal Street Rod Association). Still slomewhat active in hot rodding. I had two street rods; a 1932 Ford bright red full fendered roadster with a 560 HP supercharged small block Chevy all aluminum engine plus a 1933 Ford 3-window chopped coupe with a 510 HP supercharged small block Chevy engine. (The coupe was sold in 2015 and the roadster in late 2019). After 45 years in California I moved to Melbourne, Florida in July of 2019. I had no family in California but have two daughters in Melbourne and figured it was time to reconnect with my family. I really love Florida and particularly Melbourne. It's big enough to have all the amenities I'm used to but small enough to escape all the negatives of a major city like Los Angeles. Recent fads my gf and I had been participating in include ziplining and bowling. My highest bowling score to date is 264. Had one marathon bowling outing where I bowled 20 straight games in a three hour period. Quite a workout. After nearly 15 years with a girl friend, she elected to stay in CA when I moved to FL proving nothing is forever. I'm still working for my former company Professional Products. I work maybe 10 to 15 hours a week on a consultant basis doing verious projects. I also have a couple of other regular clients that I work for doing graphics projects. Just moved into a new house in Melbourne in August 2020.. I was previously renting until I got the lay of the land but now am living in a much newer (and nicer) 1,900 square foot home. Extremely happy now. Recently formed a new company called Diamond Grilles manufacturing custom grilles for late model vehicles.
